Delimited Text Translation

GoAnywhere MFT™ can read and write common data exchange formats like delimited text files. Most column delimiters are supported including commas (e.g. CSV files), tabs, colons, semicolons, tilde and vertical pipes.

Reading Delimited Text

The data read in from delimited text files can be used to insert into database tables, translated into other file formats like Excel, fixed-width, XML, and more. GoAnywhere MFT can read a delimited text file using a variety of user-specified options:
  • Include/exclude column headings
  • Field delimiters (commas, tabs, pipes, etc.)
  • Record delimiters (CR, LF, CR/LF, LF/CR)
  • Formatting options for dates and numbers
  • Text qualifiers
  • Null substitute values
  • Pass in variables (at runtime) to override attributes
