Fixed Width and Flat File Text Read
GoAnywhere can read data from fixed-width and flat file text files using a variety of user-specified options:
- Include/exclude column headings
- Field starting positions and lengths
- Record delimiters (CR, LF, CR/LF, LF/CR)
- Formatting options for dates and numbers
- Alignment and padding options
- Null substitute values
- Pass in variables (at runtime) to override attributes
The data read from fixed-width and flat file text files can be imported into database tables or translated into other formats including Excel, Delimited Text and XML formats.
GoAnywhere Director can be installed onto IBM System i, IBM System p (AIX), IBM System z (Mainframe), Windows, Linux, UNIX, HP-UX, Mac OS and Solaris platforms. System i is also referred to as iSeries, as400, as/400 and i5.
