Resources

Resources allow you to predefine the properties for the servers that you wish to connect from within  GoAnywhere. These properties may include the server connection information, such as IP or host name, along with login credentials and preferences.  Resources can be defined for Database servers, FTP and Secure FTP servers, Email servers, AS2 servers and HTTP/s servers. 

 

Resources save time and ensure quality by not having to respecify connection properties when creating new Tasks within Projects. The desired Resource can simply be selected from a drop-down list.

 

For separation of duties, certain users can be authorized for creating and maintaining Resources. The properties for these Resources can be hidden from other unauthorized users, preserving the confidential connection information for your trading partners.

 

All Resource definitions are stored in GoAnywhere's central database. Any passwords can be stored in encrypted form.

When creating a Resource, specify a unique name and the settings for the Resource. For instance, if defining a FTP Resource, you would specify FTP connection settings such as its host name or IP address, User ID and password.

GoAnywhere Director can be installed onto IBM System i, IBM System p (AIX), IBM System z (Mainframe), Windows, Linux, UNIX, HP-UX, Mac OS and Solaris platforms.  System i is also referred to as iSeries, as400, as/400 and i5.
